At last! The winner of the Yurivision Snog Contest 2007!!

Hello, this is Terry Wogan – thank you for staying with us through this wonderfully tense edition of the Yurivision Snog Contest. I have to say I wasn’t really paying attention – held up, as it were, in the venue bar – drinking copious amouts of gin and tonic. However, I have dragged my inebriated self over here in order to tell you that the votes have been counted (all proceeds from the text voting tonight go to the RSPYC – the Royal society for the protection of Yuri Couples. Remember – for every vote that was cast, 50p of the call charge goes to helping yuri couples that can’t buy even the most basic sextoys for themselves.
The votes for the final have been counted and the final result is….
Konoka Konoe and Setsuna Sakurazaki – 411 votes
Nanoha Takamachi and Fate testarossa – 567 votes!
…making Nanoha and Fate the winners of Yurivision 2007!!!
How does it feel you two?
Nanoha: Wow! I never thought we’d get this far, let alone win after that close run in with Sachiko and YUmi in the Quarter finals
Fate: Yeah, they were really upset backstage afterwards, but then Sachiko whispered something in YUmi’s ear and she stopped crying. Something about miko outfits…
N: *blushes* You know, Fate-chan is pretty cute in a miko outfit as well…
F: Not as cute as Nanoha-chan in her primary school sukumizu…
Yuribou: Now now girls – before you make the whole audience anaemic due to nose blood loss, is there anyone you would like to thank?
N: We’d like to thank all the people for supporting us and everyone who voted for us!
F: Also to Hayate-chan, Momoko-san and Lindy-okaasan for egging us on to get together in the first place
N: Wah…remember when Fate-chan finally confessed to me?
F: *blushes* I’d rather you didin’t mention that, Nanoha…
Y: No, I’m interested – how did she?
N: Fate-chan took me out for a meal on my 13th birthday on a roof restaurant then while we were waiting for the dessert, she traced out “I LOVE YOU NANOHA” in the sky above the river, it was so romantic!
F: Well it was, apart from almost causing a few minor aeroplane disasters…
Y: May I ask a few personal questions?
Nanoha and Fate confer
N: Only one!
Y: Hmm, alright then…Strangest place you two have ever done “it”?
Nanoha and Fate look at each other
N & F: In Chrono-kun’s wardrobe!
Y: I’ll ask no more. Thank you girls, it’s been a pleasure, thanks for talking to me and congratulations on your win. Hopefully we’ll see you here again next year!

Well-deserved win. They may not be “canon” but they certainly are loved as if they were. The endless images, fanfiction and threads just show that. I’m so glad they won.

I’m a hardcore KonoSetsu fan and I can’t say that I’m not disappointed. Then again, I know that there are also quite a few Nanoha/Fate fans out there and I can understand why KonoSetsu lost. For those people who think you’ve gotten your revenge, know that it is always bittersweet. For those who are true Nanoha/Fate fans, I only offer my most humble congratulations. Hopefully the voting will be a lot more even ground next time.

They were probably scheming with Freddy Mercury and John Lennon to rebuild the DeLorean from Back to the Future so they could prevent the atomic bombings, the Bush Administration, and the invention of the doughnut.
Seriously, they were here, but even they could not stand up to the combined might of the Nanoha/Fate, Chikane/Himeko, and Shizuru/Natsuki fans all at once. A lot of times, playing dirty is the only way people can fufill their ambitions. Or in this case, defeat Kono/Setsu.

Congrats to Nanoha/Fate as Snoggers of 2007. I’m satisfied with Hemiko/Chikane in third, barely behind KonoSetsu with second place. And last but still loved Saber/Rin in Fourth.
Congratulations to all four couples.Making it to the Semifinals and Finals is still good ^_^.

I chuckled when I saw the “CHIKANE/HIMEKO NOOOOOOOO!” option.
I burst out laughing when I saw it had 54% out of 360 votes (including mine ^__^).

I was quite depressed with reading the recent comments list until I remembered what the actual Eurovision contest was like, and then I realised how great this has all been.
Purely in that controversial spirit then, I’ll take this opportunity to point out that about as many people voted KonoSetsu this round as last time. Nanoha/Fate seem to have picked up half as many votes again from somewhere.
Enjoy the highs and the lows equally, folks, it’s really not that serious of a business. And u101: I think you might be jumping to some incorrect conclusions there.

Yurivision is over! It was tons of fun while it lasted, though. I was especially surprised at how [figuratively] violent the battles got in terms of fandom. [Then again, maybe not].
I’m a big fan of Nanoha/Fate, but I’m a fan of Konoka/Setsuna, too. So either of them winning was topping on the cake for me.
Then again, I’m a big fan of all of the couples, so in it’s entirety, the whole Yurivision was pretty kickass. I mean, you get to oggle Yuribou’s collection of great snogging pics. Who doesn’t win? XD
