Chachamaru dead again. Successor possibly in the works…

Well, it had to happen sometime – for some reason, Chachamaru (my desktop) chose the evening before I was going to have some internet gamage with friends from my old secondary school to completely die acutely and completely randomly. Now it turns on, but there is no output to the monitor and it isn’t getting into Windows (the mouse isn’t lighting up).

Therefore, I shall use this opportunity to build a new rig, since Chachamaru is getting on 5 years old anyway, with a view to fixing her at a later date if I can work out wtf went wrong with her in the first place…

So anyway, that’s completely irrelevant to all of you reading my blog, because I will be posting, but perhaps with a few more breaks in order to build stuff.

    Maybe you can build a dual video card rig with 4 HDs and be careful to make sure it doesnt contain windows vista since there still bugs in the system.
    hope you can keep your blog kikcking while you build the new one

    Are you getting any post code at all? It might be just the video card died. But after 5 years, you’re better off building a new rig than trying to salvage the old one. Don’t forget to yank the old HD and make it a slave in the new system.

    Patrick: No POST code at all – just blinks “no signal”. TTYTT, it’s probably the video card, but I thought I’d seize the opportunity.

    Just have to wait til the new GeForce 8800 GTs come out mid November ^_^ If they’re late I might cry.

    But if you look closely, you’ll see an ETA date on them ^_^

    Not yet available for Preorder in the UK yet, but hopefully by mid Nov…
