Yurivision Semi Final 2 – Nanoha/Fate Vs. Saber/Rin

Wow, was that a close contest or what! A late surge in the last half hour of voting meant that at midnight on the dot, Konoka and Setsuna have won by just 3 votes!!! Sorry Chikane/Himeko fans, but Konoka and Setsuna go through to the Yurivision Finals this year ^_^
Now is this the ultimate match of lolis versus experience?
In the red corner we have the innocence and pure white souls of Nanoha and Fate from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha (well, pure white if you don’t count episode 8’s EMOha)
In the blue corner, the blood tarnished shreds of soul-like material burning fiercely is a flame of yuri love that is Fate/Stay night’s Saber and Rin.
Which one of these truly worthy couples will make it through to the finals on the 8th of June? We’ll only know at midnight on the 7th! Vote hard, vote fast! Find as many IPs as you can! Beg or borrow your sister’s computer! Go go go!!!

Saber/Rin ftw! (IMHO, the previous pic for Saber/Rin was better, and they should have been switched around. Saliva strands are huge boosters, and both pics should have had the strands. I say Yuribou is biased :P)

Well sadly, I’m not that big of a Nanoha fan. The light never went on in my head like most people. Guess it’s the underage/loli thing. Anyway, My first pick made it to the finals, and my second pick (most favorite anime) almost made it. So it turned out alright. Now if I can have this type of success with gambling :P RIN/SABER FTW!

If KonoSetsu won against Chikane/Himeko, there is no question as to who will win the final round. This poll is pretty much dead to me now. Can’t believe that the winner of the yuri contest is probably going to be a pair that doesn’t even have an actual yuri relationship.

It’s gotta be Nanoha/Fate. Even if you’re not into the loli (me), in the latest series they’re all grown up, and still fairly lovelove. And quite possibly married, as far as I can tell. ^_^
Saber and Rin had that moment of hotness, and we all know the one I mean, but in the TypeMoon game did they get together any more than that? If so I’m curious, and downloads might occur…

I missed all the great voting, but still made it until the finals.
Saber/Rin are overrated, this is a pure win for Nanoha/Fate. But *never ever* will nanoha/fate win against Konoka/Setsuna. Never. :3

Man I bet at 60% of ppl who voted KonoSetsu in havnt even seen Kannazuki no Miko…Kinda sad the KonoSetsu won by ignorant ppl who wash shallow anime…pooey I’m gonna eat some ice cream…that round was way too hot.
but anyways, i wish ppl would actually look at both sides before desiding, and the cheap multi IP doesnt help either…

Akatsuki: No need to get sour about things >_< – Im sure a lot of the Kannazuki fans haven’t seen Negima! either or read the manga (even less) so it works both ways. And please watch who you criticise – I am one of those “ignorant people who watch shallow anime” after all ^_^;;

And things concerning Hemiko/Chikane vs. Konoka/Setsuna: I really think there are some IP switching. Well…I won’t dwell on the past but i would say a revival round be nice. I’d be sad(disappointed) if Konoka and Setsuna to win this whole thing and yet…they’re not an official couple.
I mean take a look at it: KonoSetsu barely narrowly made it to the finals with 5 more votes over ShizNat and 3 more votes with Hemiko/Chikane.

Im still concerned about all this “not proper couple” bashing going on in the Comments. Surely the thing that people who have read my blog for a long time should now know is that yuri isn’t about actual happenings, it’s about the little things that noone notices and the caring for each other and the wanting to protect etc. etc.
Take a look a tthe great yuri couples of yore – Sakura and Tomoyo, for example were never an official couple, neither were (afaik) Haruka and Michiru of Sailor Moon. Most of the couples on Yurivision aren’t canon couples and does that mean they are disadvantaged from the start?
As Konosetsu have shown, it is possible for a non-canon couple to have a huge fanbase. The fact that they haven’t had relations on screen shouldn’t reflect on theyr ’shippability’ to coin a term.
The problem with having a second round would be that if Chikane and Himeko then won by a small margin, the Konosetsu fans would be equally cross. Therefore, saving myself time and effort, it’s probably better to stick with the original result. In addition, if I had decided the SFs were going to be 1 day long like the QFs, KonoSetsu would also have won. And without all the controversy too.

Yuribou- I’ve been literally a fan of this site for quiet some time, and most of what you said i agree with. KonoSetsu is no doubt a good couple -points to the numbers of votes they got- and Hemiko/Chikane -points to angry mob- Yeah….the numbers are pretty even. Theres the problem.
The results are NOT solid.They’re as fuzzy as ever.And as you said a revival round would bring more flames and more “KonoSetsu is so much better couple!” then the Hemiko/Chikane fans would “Yeah right!…”You know the rest. IF one couple wins by like…right now…3-5 votes.
But if the revival round wins by say…15+ votes it’d be more solid and maybe both sides fans would shut up.I’d bring us Hemiko/Chikane fans closure. Maybe for boths sides as well. Saying KonoSetsu won by three votes isn’t much of bragging rights XD.
And say KonoSetsu win the Snog Constest giving them the “Snog Couple of the Year” title isn’t much either becuase of the narrow win with Chikane/Hemiko and the Shizuru/Natsuki.
I’d say a revival round would mostly benefit both sides. Give some closure and less flames and complaints. How about putting out a post about the revival round and sees who agrees or not, aye?Also stating that there won;t be any complaints after the pol with the results.Then you can go with the poll.
Anyhow, i’ma fan with a suggestion…and i didn’t mean to flame/bash KonoSetsu. I like them too, just not as much as Hemiko/Chikane. XD
